4th Quarter Blitz Buries Norwegians

Carleton point man, Kaza Kajami-Keane leads Canada to game 1 win over Norway.

Canada opened their ‘University Games’ competition with a solid 85 – 54 trouncing of Norway on Sunday in Taipei City. Led by guard, Kaza Kajami-Keane (Carleton), who tallied 22 pts/ 6 rebs/ 8 assists, as Canada never trailed. Their 26-9 blitz in the final 10 minutes confirmed their domination in this tip-off match.

Big Erik Nissen (Acadia) was a force on the boards, with 10 rebounds, while the UBC pair of Conor Morgan (16 pts/6 rebs/4 assts) and Jordan Jensen -Whyte (13 pts/5 rebs) played major roles in the Canadian attack.

Coach Kevin Hanson distributed minutes through his whole 11 man line-up, with Jean Emmanuel Pierre-Charles (Ottawa) not playing, due to injury.  Canada’s next test will be Monday vs Finland.  The Finns were 93-45 winners over Japan in their 1st game today.  Box Score
