Easy Win for Canada Over Hong Kong

Canada Crushes Hong Kong in Team Effort

In an obvious mismatch on Tuesday in Taiwan, Canada, even without injured mainstays, Conor Morgan (UBC) and Jean Emmanuel Pierre-Charles (Ottawa), overwhelmed Hong Kong 125-55 in Pool B action.  Erik Nissen (Acadia) was the scoring and rebounding leader, with 20 pts/ 11 boards, as all 10 players helped the team hit on 55% of their field goal attempts.

Kevin Bercy (St. FX) amassed 17 points/ 5 rebounds in only 9 minutes, and 6 Canadians got to double digits in scoring.  The winners enjoyed a huge 63-29 edge over the smaller Hong Kong team on the boards.  Canada, now 2-1, have a rest day on Wednesday, then face a fairly weak (1-2) Japan on Thursday.  It certainly seems a must for Canada to then knock off the Germans in their final game on Friday, if they are to advance to the next round.  Box Score

Group B standings – Germany 3-0,  Finland 3-0,  Canada 2-1,  Japan 1-2,  Norway 0-3, and  Hong Kong 0-3
